A filmmaker with a wide range of experiences and skills, Alex began his filmmaking career working for the United Nations while stationed in Timor-Leste (East Timor) and Indonesia producing, shooting and editing stories for UNTV.
His first feature documentary, Obscene, premiered to critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then he has edited numerous features and commercial projects for clients including KPMG, NYC MTA, Levi’s, Persol, Baccarat, and Seasons 1 & 2 of the Sundance Channel series Beginnings, and much more as part of Ager Meillier Films, the company he runs with his wife, filmmaker Tanya Ager Meillier.
His feature documentary, Alias Ruby Blade: a Story of Love and Revolution premiered to critical acclaim at IDFA and the Tribeca Film Festival and was broadcast on Al Jazeera America and acquired by Netflix as well as broadcasters and streamers around the world.
He currently resides with his family in Brooklyn.
